DOST Secretary Dr. Renato Solidum Jr. Administers Oath for PCFMI 2025 Board; Advocates for Industry Adoption of Cutting-Edge Technology
On July 11, 2025, at the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) office in Bicutan, Taguig, Secretary Dr. Renato Solidum Jr. proudly administered the oath-taking ceremony for the 2025 Board of Directors of the Philippine Chamber of Food Manufacturers, Inc. (PCFMI).

Secretary Solidum emphasized the critical role of innovation and technology adoption in transforming the Philippine food manufacturing industry. He urged the PCFMI leadership and its member companies to embrace advanced technologies developed by DOST’s specialized agencies such as the Industrial Technology Development Institute (ITDI) and the Food and Nutrition Research Institute (FNRI).

He highlighted the importance of public-private partnerships (PPP) as a strategic platform to accelerate technology transfer and innovation uptake. Such collaboration aligns with the national government’s priority to strengthen small and medium enterprises (SMEs), enabling them to enhance productivity, competitiveness, and sustainability. By integrating DOST-initiated technologies, the food manufacturing sector can contribute significantly to the country’s economic growth and uplift the livelihood of millions of Filipinos.

Secretary Solidum concluded by reaffirming DOST’s commitment to support the industry with research, development, and technical assistance, ensuring a thriving food manufacturing ecosystem that benefits all stakeholders.
